DLA Piper represented the San Francisco 49ers in connection with a US$850 million senior secured multi-draw term loan financing for the construction of a new stadium in Santa Clara, California.

DLA Piper represented the San Francisco 49ers in connection with a US$850 million senior secured multi-draw term loan financing for the construction of a new stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The new stadium will be owned by the Santa Clara Stadium Authority and leased during the NFL season to Forty Niners SC Stadium Company LLC (StadCo) for further sublease to the 49ers. DLA Piper also assisted with the structuring of the financing, which utilized a Delaware statutory trust as the borrower from the lending group and the lender to both StadCo for US$400 million and the Santa Clara Stadium Authority for US$450 million.

The team representing the 49ers in the deal included Peter White, Katherine Baynes and Natlee Reisen (New York); Mark Whitaker (Northern Virginia); Nathan Treu (San Francisco); and Kristin Franceschi (Baltimore).
