Solicitor Clare Titcomb joins DLA Piper Ukraine

At the beginning of 2012, Clare Titcomb, an English solicitor, joined DLA Piper Ukraine as a senior associate. With Clare's arrival DLA Piper Ukraine is now offering its clients English law expertise locally.

At the beginning of 2012, Clare Titcomb, an English solicitor, joined DLA Piper Ukraine as a senior associate. With Clare's arrival DLA Piper Ukraine is now offering its clients English law expertise locally.

Previously Clare spent three years working for the Tbilisi office of DLA Piper where she worked on a number of high profile private equity, project finance and capital markets transactions, including acting for the Government of Georgia on its debut sovereign bond issue. In London, Clare specialised in banking law and has worked on real estate finance, acquisition finance and cross–border finance transactions, acting for both bank and borrower clients.

Clare has advised on various significant transactions throughout the Central and Eastern Europe region: acting for EBRD in its US$ 28 million senior loan for the construction and operation of a steel mini - mill in Georgia, advising Eurohypo AG on its first deal in Russia, a US$ 130 million financing of "Pushkino" logistics park, advising Bank of Georgia on its US$ 160 million IPO and listing on the London Stock Exchange and acting for real estate investment fund, Georgian Reconstruction and Development Company, on its USD $ 105 million equity private placement with EBRD and institutional investors and US$ 90 million debt financing by IFC and EBRD.

Clare's previous professional experience includes; working for an international law firm as a corporate and finance lawyer in London, Amsterdam and Central and Eastern Europe, a client secondment to the corporate banking division of Lloyds TSB in the City of London, two years as an international policy adviser for Europe & CIS at the Law Society of England & Wales and four years as a supervisory board member for a Georgian microfinance organisation.

Clare is an England and Wales trained and educated solicitor and is licensed to practice by the Law Society of England and Wales. She graduated with first class honors in Law and Spanish from Cardiff University in 1999. She also spent one year studying at the law faculty of the University of Oviedo in Spain. She graduated from the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School with a distinction in 2001 and recently completed an LLM in International Law at University College London. Clare is fluent in English and Spanish with a working knowledge of Russian and Georgian.
