DLA Piper hosts Life Sciences Forum

On 29 March DLA Piper organised an international forum for the life sciences sector. Around 50 experts from research and industry attended to discuss current trends and challenges with representatives of the law firm.
The event was opened by Sabine Fehringer, partner at the Vienna office of DLA Piper. Sabine Vogler, Head of the WHO collaborating centre for pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement policies, followed with her speech on pricing and reimbursement in the pharmaceutical industry in CEE. Subsequently DLA Piper partners Sabine Fehringer and Livia Constantinescu lectured about the legislative framework for marketing and distribution in the life sciences sector. "There is hardly any sector with more regulations on advertisement than the pharmaceutical industry. Nevertheless a good product will always find its way to the client", says Sabine Fehringer.
In the following current opportunities for the life sciences sector were discussed by a top-class panel. On the podium: Robin Rumler, CEO of Pfizer Corporation Austria and president of Pharmig, the association of Austrian pharmaceutical companies, Deloitte Tax Partner Jaroslav Skrvna and Christian Singer, professor at the Medical University of Vienna. "The life science sector still provides some interesting options for companies and research. I am pleased that today we were able to offer our clients a fresh impetus as well as legal background information in this exciting field", summarizes Christoph Mager, partner und head of the Vienna Corporate group.
