DLA Piper holds webinar on software development and outsourcing in Ukraine

A team of DLA Piper's Kyiv office and colleagues from Los Angeles and London offices held a webinar "Discover Ukraine's new opportunities for software development and outsourcing".
This complimentary webinar explored numerous advantages offered by Ukraine to businesses seeking to move software development and outsourcing operations to international venues: not least of which is a well-educated, highly skilled workforce, plus advantageous business structures.
Webinar was followed online by more than 40 people, representing mainly US companies, potentially interested in software development and outsourcing in Ukraine. During the webinar many leading topics were discussed, among them - local market of software and outsourcing in Ukraine, local skill sets, level of education, IP protection and mechanisms to ensure that the IP assets are owned by the customer, important tax issues regarding development of this aspect of business, typical tax structures, tax incentives, transfer pricing issues, VAT issues, as well as new amendments on tax regime for software developers.
