DLA Piper announces changes to Executive Management Team

DLA Piper is announcing changes to the Executive Management Team (Executive) in its International LLP which will take effect from 1 May 2012.

The new Executive will comprise:

Sir Nigel Knowles Managing Partner and Global Co-CEO
Tony Angel Senior Partner and Global Co‑Chairman
Andrew Darwin COO and Managing Partner, UK
Paul Edwards Chief Financial Officer
Bob Charlton Managing Director, Asia Pacific
Ulrich Jüngst Managing Director, Europe and Middle East
Simon Levine/ Juan Picon Joint Managing Directors, Groups & Sectors
Carol Ashton Human Resources Director
Zelinda Bennett Marketing & Business Development Director

The Executive has responsibility for the day-to-day management of the firm and the development of strategic proposals for presentation to and approval by the firm's International Board.

Sir Nigel Knowles commented: "The new Executive will bring a fresh perspective to the firm and we hope it will enable us to increase the pace and intensity of the implementation of our strategic framework."

Two current members of the Executive, David Bradley and Alastair Da Costa, have elected to step down. David will return to full-time legal practice as a partner in our Employment Pensions & Benefits Group where he will focus on our key national and international clients. Alastair will complete the hand-over of his responsibilities by 30 June 2012 and will then be pursuing a range of other interests (including completing a Masters degree at the London School of Economics) while remaining as a consultant to the firm.
