DLA Piper Journalist Awards 2012

DLA Piper hosted it's second Summer Press Party and Journalist of the Year Awards yesterday evening. Journalists and partners celebrated in the summer sunshine, the achievements of business journalists over the last 12 months.
Simon Levine, Co-Managing Director for Groups and Sectors, presented the awards to five journalists in the categories of Business Journalist of the Year, Legal Journalist of the Year, UK Regional Journalist of the Year, Trade Journalist of the Year and Young Journalist of the Year.
There were 22 journalists nominated across the five categories with the winners chosen by all DLA Piper fee-earners.
DLA Piper is pleased to announce the winners were:
- Business Journalist of the Year, won by Ian King, Business & City Editor at The Times
- Legal Journalist of the Year, won by Alex Novarese, Editor of Legal Week
- UK Regional Journalist of the Year, won by Ian Briggs, Editor of The Business Desk Leeds
- Trade Journalist of the Year, won by Edward Machin, Online Editor of Commercial Dispute Resolution
And the most distinguished prize for Young Journalist of the Year went to Alice Murray, reporter for Real Deals, who was the proud receipent of an iPad.
The annual summer party is a great social occasion for partners and journalists to get to know each other better and reflect on the events of the last 12 months.
